Our Partner Agencies.

The United Way of Greenbrier Valley is partners with 32 agencies that serve the local community in a variety of ways. These partner agencies help address needs related to education, financial stability, health, and basic needs, ensuring that residents have access to the services and resources that they require. Here's an overview of our wonderful partner agencies and their functions, along with the impact they have on the Greenbrier Valley community:

Appalachian Service Project is a Christian ministry open to all people. For 50 years, ASP has made homes warmer, safer, and drier through critical home repair, rehabilitation and replacement.

 

Alderson Hospitality House provides support for those incarcerated at the Alderson Federal Prison Camp, their families, and friends by providing temporary lodging, meals, transportation, emotional support and education.

Carnegie Hall (Lewisburg) is committed to cultivating an appreciation for creativity and excellence in the arts. Carnegie Hall presents a broad and diverse range of programs that engage, entertain, and educate people of all ages and backgrounds and works to preserve the historic significance of the Hall.

 

CASA advocates for children. Their goal is to engage and empower enough volunteers to give a voice to every child in the West Virginia court system, who has experienced abuse or neglect.

 

Catholic Charities West Virginia provides programs and services to assist the poor and vulnerable in all 55 counties of West Virginia; including: food assistance, emergency financial services, disaster relief, and child care.

 

Communities in Schools’ mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. They further facilitate the basic needs of a child.

 

CYAC / The Child and Youth Advocacy Center strives to bring justice, hope, and healing to children and families who are victims of abuse in Greenbrier, Monroe, and Pocahontas Counties.

 

Davis Stuart provides therapeutic residential care to ages 12 through 18, in a supervised setting. Their goal is to reunify a youth with his or her family, when possible, or give them the life skills to enter into independence.

 

The Family Refuge Center is dedicated to combating domestic violence and sexual assault in Greenbrier, Pocahontas, & Mercer Counties. Their outreach programs include: crisis intervention and support services, empowering survivors to take control of their lives and encourage hope, healing, and a path forward.

 

Fruits of Labor is a cafe, bakery, nationally certified culinary & ag training center in West Virginia, supporting adults recovering from addiction.

 

Gateway Industries is a private non-profit Community Rehabilitation Program (CRP), providing employment and vocational services to individuals presented with a variety of physical, cognitive, and/or psychiatric disabilities, within the tri-county area.

 

Greenbrier County Youth Camp is a youth retreat and is supported through the efforts of many volunteers. Nearly 7,000 people visit annually.

 

Greenbrier Committee on Aging provides assistance to the elderly having difficulty with basic household chores, such as, meal preparation, dish washing, changing bedding, household cleaning, and laundry.

 

Greenbrier County Universal Pre-K is a statewide pre-k program for 3 & 4-year-olds with special needs.

 

Greenbrier East HS Technology Student Assoc. strengthens the link between technology and education, in the GCS Technology Department, to ensure all students and staff have the same opportunity to create and share through teaching and learning.

 

The Greenbrier Valley Family Activity Center is a collaboration between the City of White Sulphur Springs, the Greenbrier Valley Community Foundation, and the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Their vision is to build a 25,000+ sq. ft. facility consisting of basketball courts, a playground, pickleball courts, an accessible fishing trail, a bicycle course, and an activity area, in White Sulphur Springs.

 

Greenbrier Valley Theatre’s mission is to create live, professional quality performances in West Virginia and to enlighten, enrich, and enliven creative arts of our region.

 

God’s Way Home’s mission is to help men suffering from drug and alcohol addiction by teaching them about Jesus Christ. God’s Way Home is a place for detoxification, and recovery. They, also, assist with job placement. They focus on, both, the physical and spiritual needs of the men that we serve.

 

High Rocks’ goal is to combat the root causes of poverty and apathy at the core, through education, leadership training, empowerment counseling and mentoring.

 

Hospice Care Greenbrier is West Virginia’s oldest and largest provider of hospice, palliative and bereavement services. Their mission is to provide compassionate care and affirm life through hospice, palliative and other supportive care services to the patients, families and communities that they serve.

 

The Marvel Center provides childcare and after-school programming. They engage the community by creating safe and nurturing relationships, that enable children and families to learn and grow through education, healthy nutrition & physical activity.

 

Monroe Day Care Center has been open 30 plus years. They serve children ages 6 weeks through 12 years of age.

 

Mountain Heart Community Service, Inc. provides training, as well as, child care for eligible parents who are employed. The program, also, serves families with pregnant moms, providing support for the expectant mother through education, health checks, socialization meetings and classes.

 

Northern Greenbrier Latchkey Kids offers childcare services in Frankford, WV. NGLK is one of the few childcare providers in Greenbrier County, providing after school care.

 

Pocahontas County Family Resource Network is a community-based organization in Marlinton, WV, that provides support and resources to new and expecting mothers.

 

Pocahontas County Senior Citizens coordinates meal delivery, through Meals on Wheels, to qualifying seniors in the county.

 

Reigning Warriors utilizes horses to heal American heroes, by providing hands-on support for our service men and women and first responders, through specific equine-assisted programs, that provide training in equine care, management, groundwork, and horseback riding.

 

Renick Community Center is the first Adaptive Fitness Center in Southern West Virginia, making fitness accessible where both wheelchair users and their gym buddies can work out together in a beautiful outdoor setting.

 

Shepherd’s Center of Greenbrier Valley is an interfaith ministry that seeks to sustain mature adults to live independently.  Our programs consist of: Gwen's Meals delivery, Handy Helper service, Friendly Caller/Visits, transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and being a senior resource center in the area.

 

Wellspring WV provides quality food items and personal care items to households experiencing food insecurity. This program supplies critical nutrition to hungry individuals and families.

 

Williamsburg Volunteer Fire Department is a community-based organization located in Williamsburg, West Virginia. With a team of specially trained volunteers, their department is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of Williamsburg and the surrounding areas. Their priority is to provide emergency response services, including fire response and medical emergency response.
